Nestlé’s Technical Training Program: Nigeria’s Government Commends Nestle Nigeria

The Honorable Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu has commended Nestlé Nigeria’s Technical Training Program on his visit to the company’s Flowergate Factory in Ogun State.

Nestlé’s Technical Training Program is an 18-month intensive training focused on equipping young graduates with polyvalent technology skills.

The best five students from the program participate in additional training modules and internship in Switzerland.

Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu also commended the company for its continued commitment to the development of the economy, especially towards the industrialization of the country.

“Nestlé is a great company affecting lives daily. There is hardly any family where your products are not used,” said the Honorable Minister.

He added, “This is why I chose Nestlé as the first organization to visit. We are very happy with your efforts so far in manpower development and local sourcing and are very ready to collaborate with your organization to bring Nigeria from a resource based economy to ta knowledge based economy.”

The Minister visited the company on February 9, 2017 with an entourage that included the Director General of FIIRO (Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi), Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Elemo and the Director General of the Natural Medicine Development Agency, Mr. Sam Etatuve.
