Africa: Google Announces First Ever Developers Launchpad Start in Johannesburg

Software giant, Google has announced its first ever Developers Launchpad Start in Johannesburg will take place at hold at Jo’burg-based co-creation space, JoziHub from March 27 – 31, 2017.

A one week problem-solving bootcamp, Launchpad Start is designed for early stage startups focused on subjects including product strategy, UX and UI, technology, marketing and business developments.

The goal of the program is to provide startups with actionable, in-person mentoring to help them tackle critical growth and scale challenges.

Each day of the bootcamp will be dedicated to a specific subject and will include presentations, one on one mentorship and instructor-led workshops.

At the end the program, participating startups will have four key takeaways: an improved product strategy, an optimized Minimum Viable Product, a technical excellence plan and a viable digital marketing strategy.

“The bootcamp will help to fasttrack a young business, will help overcome challenges and provide the much needed mentorship support that startups need. This is a crucial and important event on our calendar,” JoziHub stated in a blogpost.

Early stage technology startups in South Africa should apply for the program by February 24, 2017. 20 startups will be selected to participate in the bootcamp.
