Three South African startups have graduated from the Startupbootcamp InsurTech‘s 2017 accelerator program, pitching to potential investors on Demo Day few days ago.
The 3 months accelerator program is aimed at providing participants hands-on sessions, workshops, and masterclasses from experts that’ll help them grow.
Over 2,500 startups from 43 different countries applied to take part in the program with only 23 startups selected for Selection Days. 10 startups eventually made the final cut, including South Africa’s Emerge Analytics, Aerobotics and NuvaLaw.
Emerge Analytics uses big data, artificial intelligence, and a scoring platform to solve complex business problems while Aerobotics gets better data analysis, via AI algorithms, in the agricultural, logistical, and mining industries using drone tech.
As for NuvaLaw, it has created a digital negotiation platform between motor vehicle insurers.
The startups received funding, mentorship, office space in the heart of London and access to a global network of investors and venture capitalists throughout the duration of the program.
The program has now come to end in a Demo Day on 26 April 2017 after three months, with the three startups, and the other finalists, pitching in front of over 500 investors, corporates, mentors and press attendees in London.
