Buffrspace: Find, Book and Schedule Workspaces Easily

Buffrspace is an online marketplace aiming to provide remote workers with access to on-demand workspaces in their neighbourhood.

Buffrspace’s network of diverse workspaces includes regular office spaces, co-working spaces, shared office spaces, meeting rooms, training rooms as well as the not-so-regular, such as coffee shops and studios.

By operating an Airbnb-esque model, Buffrspace allows owners and managers of real estate, particularly office spaces, become hosts by listing and monetising their (underutilised) spaces on the platform.

“There are currently over a hundred hosts listed on the Buffrspace database willing to lease or sub-lease their space to users via the service. More than 263 workspaces in three cities (Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja) are currently available on demand through the Buffrspace platform,” CEO John Ojurabesa told Techpoint.

The platform was launched formally on the 31st of July 2016. Working with John Ojurabesa on this vision are Adeyemi Yusuf (Co-founder/CTO) and Odunowo Tobi (Co-founder).

Impressions

The office space industry in Nigeria is one that has shown great potential. But there are quite a lot of challenges — especially pricing and difficulty of access — preventing it from growing at full scale. Due to these reasons many entrepreneurs prefer to work remotely.

Obviously, there are a lot of businesses with a surplus of underutilised space in their offices. There lies an opportunity for engagement and extra value for these businesses.

By spotting this opportunity, Buffrspace may just be solving a huge problem for many entrepreneurs.
